Have You Seen Me Lately?
Wow, the Country Music Awards Fan Fest was far more amazing and fun than I ever could have anticipated. All of the visitors and new friends at the Lamon Records booth were awesome. I cannot thank the fans enough for their enthusiasm and energy. The whole experience has inspired a new song I am now working on called "Second Chance". It is the story of someone who takes the courageous step to restart their life and pursue their dream regardless of age and circumstance. There is a line from the chorus that reads "You are free, free to love, free to dance, free to give and take your second chance". I am a strong believer in following your dreams and taking the road less traveled. If you want to be notified when the song is available on-line, just let me know.
I am redoing tme site now to better accomodate you, the viewer. You will notice some changes on the sandal page. I have been doing a lot of new recording, as well as rewrites of old GAHAB songs. The plan is to post all of that here at some point. No promises on a time.
When completed, I will also be adding a music section which will offer iPod-ready tunes from the old days of The Lost Jesters, GAHAB and Question Number Nine. If I have way too much time on my hands I may even get around to adding some of the b-sides that most people have never had the pleasure (or annoyance late at night when I am on one of my retrospective tours of the past) of hearing.
The praise and worship section has grown quite large and continues to grow. The music sheets (and old drum tracks) that are used at our church, Bardstown Christian Fellowship, are available for your use. We have over 300 songs in pdf format and over 150 matching drum tracks. All are available for download. There is also a PODxt section where I have uploaded the PODxt Live settings used for the songs.
For anyone who stumbles across this site and wonders how and what I am doing now, I am living in Cave City, Kentucky (near the same Bowling Green that was featured in the QNN b-side) and working at Fruit of the Loom as the Creative Director.
I will add links to the sites we are developing as they become available. I lead praise and worship in a small Bardstown, KY church on Sundays so between my workweek, practice and the drive I stay fairly busy.
I am writing music again and setting up a small studio to record here in Bowling Green. I have also had a few opportunities to go down to Nashville and record for a children’s cartoon (I play a racoon who has a thing for way too much coffee). Here is my imbd page (no way, I have an imbd page and I didn't build it myself). As the tunes are completed, I will post them. If you want to be on the notification list you can e-mail dsloan77@aol.com).
Here are some links to a couple of web designs I work on: Spalding; Dudley Sports; Fruit; Panda Productions; American Athletic; Bestform; Vassarette; Curvation; Lily of France; Vanity Fair; Fruit Activewear; Russell Outdoors; JERZEES®; Vanity Fair Brands; Russell Athletic and Bike® Athletic. Also some older sites I did as pro bono projects. I believe in The Refuge Ranch and Dunklin. If you know of someone who needs help to get their lives back together again, I strongly recommend these organizations. They are christian based and very tough. But they are also very loving and stress a personal relationship with God.
Now, if by some chance you have read this far and are still going, then take a little time out of your day and look up at the sky. You might see some formation that reminds you of a dragon or the man in the moon, who knows. If nothing else, take the opportunity to remember that God is bigger than we are and he loves us all very much. Also, if you need one, He offers us a new start with Him. Nothing is impossible with God. I have personally seen this, write about it, live it and hope in it every day.
